New House Part 1

New House Part 1:

Yay! At the beginning of February, we started building our new dream house up at Gaddums Hill, Gisborne! I was so excited when I heard the good news. Right now, there is about 3 more months until we move in, and I wish we could move in straight away. Week 1:

Concrete was being poured, hole dug, foundation drying. Week 2: Wall framing goes up, stabilizing wood up, wall in place :D. Week 3: Break! Week 4: Order windows, paint. Week 5: Roof on! Week 6: Walls up outside, windows in. Week 7: Painting. Week 8: Plumbing, Water Tanks. Week 9: NOW

I can’t wait until the day comes when we move in. Today is Wednesday and we have been looking at some sinks, toilets and vanity. Thank you for reading part one of My New House!

Learning Through Play!

LTP

LTP (Learning Through Play) is an activity we do after lunch every Monday and Tuesday across
Moana Syndicate (Room 1, 2, 3, and 4). In each classroom there is an activity you could choose to
do for the two days of that week.  The options are Makey Makey, Junkey Monkey,
Planet Construct, and Cardboard Nation. This week, I chose Makey Makey because it includes a lot
of tech and things that I like. In the next paragraphs, I will explain what each activity is about.

Makey Makey

Makey Makey is a computer - tech activity with lots of wires involved. You can make a

 piano out of bananas, bongos out of pillows, and play pacman with oranges! You could

 even make a school band. Be prepared to be amazed by the power of…         computers

Junkey Monkey

Toys are fun to play with, but are funner to destroy! In Junkey Monkey, we take apart

 toys, and put them back together in different ways. Hammering, screwing, and lots 

more. “Uh, oh! Where did my toys go?!?”

Planet Construct

Warning! Construction in progress! Beware of the bubble of creativity. Here in room 1 are a ton of big and small mechanical parts that you can make into whatever you want. A plane, a car, even things that don’t even exist! Walk into the world of mechanics . . .

Week 8 Blog Post

Lockdown Learning

Stuck in a house with two annoying brothers but loving cats and parents!?! That had been the most stressful thing in my entire life. Well, the positive thing was lockdown learning. Most people might have not enjoyed learning from home as much as I had, but it was WAY easier to get work done. I also enjoyed it because I had company which got me boosted (I am not talking about my family, I am talking about my cats ). 

On the 25th of March lockdown started. I can’t believe I even survived!

Each week we would have a new subject and tasks to work on including Anzac, Animal Kingdom, World Famous, Story Time and Our World. There were hands-on activities and discovery activities. I really enjoyed the activities that were chosen and the fancy friday google meets. I was filled with laughter and joy when I saw the costumes.

The one thing about being at home and with learning included, was getting the beautiful and cute little kitties we had gotten. There were some disasters but I enjoyed the lockdown very much (except for my brothers) and I hope you did too.
